History and Overview

For more than 30 years, Carolina Oncology Associates has been helping treat patients in Salisbury, Rowan County and surrounding communities. Our four Board-certified medical oncologists specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer and blood disorders. Collectively, we bring more than 75 years of experience and are well versed in all the latest advancements in cancer medicine. Our physicians continue to be an integral part of the community here and are also active participants in both local and national medical societies.

Philosophy of Care

The diagnosis of cancer is a stressful experience, and it’s hard enough dealing with the emotional and physical tolls without having to travel out of the county. To us, providing comprehensive cancer care means more than just administering treatment regimens. While we offer advanced, comprehensive cancer care for residents of the Central Piedmont area, we also understand the impact that cancer has on patients, families, and the community. That’s why our team of physicians and certified oncology nurses provide detailed education to our patients about the different types of cancer and the temporary side effects some cancer treatments have. We provide our patients with access to area support groups, and medical guidance that gives them the knowledge and information to combat and cope with their disease. Throughout the process, it is important you understand the goals and risks of each treatment option so you can work with your doctor to decide which treatment is right for you.

A Multidisciplinary Approach

Carolina Oncology Associates stresses a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers that combine the skills and expertise of many different disciplines to provide superior care. Our goal is to provide personalized treatment plans tailored to treat your condition (see a list of treatment options in the “Our Services” section of this website).
